TripleAqua selected as best innovation project

June  20, 2017

The Heat Pump Panel of the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating & Cooling (RHC-ETIP) has selected TripleAqua as most innovative project.

TripleAqua has developed the world's first natural 3 pipes heat pump based on water, for heating and cooling of buildings with internal energy storage. It gives the possibility to heat, cool and store energy all at once, keeping high-efficiency standards and using a near to zero GWP natural refrigerant. The system uses only standardised components which allow creating large cost savings in installation and materials. TripleAqua, developed by Beijer Ref Dutch subsidiary Uniechemie, is a brand new innovative heat pump, suitable for climatization of non-residential applications such as hotels, commercial buildings, offices, retail, hospitals and industrial applications.

This project has also recently been awarded by the Dutch refrigeration association NVKL in 2016 with the “Cooling Trophy” and most recently during the 12th IEA Heat Pump Conference on 17th of May 2017 with the NL Eneco innovation award.

TripleAqua has now won the possibility to present its achievements during the event “Innovation in the Renewable Heating and Cooling sector” at the European Sustainable Energy Week, which will take place in June 2017 in Brussels. During the session, Mr Menno van der Hoff of Uniechemie will highlight the main features and innovation of the TripleAqua project and will discuss the way forward for the renewable heating and cooling sector with winners of the other technology panels: biomass, district Heating and cooling, geothermal, solar thermal, thermal energy storage and hybrid systems.
